Let's break the ice a little in this new forum. In this thread, just talk about the games you're currently playing, what you think of them, if you're looking for someone to play them with, etc. Try to avoid derailing this topic with fanboy wars or any depressing "we live in a society" type of discussions. I want this thread to be more of a casual place to have fun sharing your experiences.

A couple nights ago, I bought Remnant: From the Ashes on a Steam sale. It's mostly a co-op third-person shooter, but it incorporates a lot of RPG elements from other titles like Dark Souls, Diablo, and Monster Hunter. It's definitely a mid-tier budget game, with some weird character models and the occasional visual glitch, but it's also running really well on my GTX 1060, nary a drop in frame rate with most settings on high. I could see myself having some good fun with friends for this.

My main focus for the last couple of months have been Smite and Sea of Thieves, the former mostly to grind through some battlepasses which happened to have cosmetics that I wanted. Hoping to finally get a window free of time limited shenanigans so I can go back to focusing on Breath of the Wild and maybe, just maybe, finally get working on Super Mario Odissey.

After some thinking, I've decided to revisit Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with the goal of completing it 100%, by which I mean all four endings and all achievements. I realized recently that I have not 100% a game in a long time, perhaps even years, and would like to change that. Hopefully, Sekiro won't take too long; I've already completed three of the endings and only have seven achievements to get, all of which can be done in one playthrough. Just gotta remind myself that I can totally flex on others for having 100%'ed a Soulsborne game.

Oh, Remnant, I've considered trying that one as well. Now that you've had the game for a couple of days, Xploder, any updates? How does the game feel?

I've pretty much gotten lost in Oxygen Not Included lately... Its kind of "manage your human ant farm" mechanics are addictive as hell.

And I've been playing a couple of really fun co-op sessions of Children of Morta, which is an isometric rogue-lite Roleplaying Hack n' Slash with procedurally generated dungoens. It's a nice new take on the genre, and I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Outside of recently finishing San Andreas, I've been playing Age of Empires 2 Definitive and some on-and-off Mordahu.

On top of that I'm pretty much always doing something in Elder Scrolls Online, and I've actually got back into Runescape since there was a double XP weekend there recently. I still can't recommend either version of modern Runescape to anyone but mechanically it's not really any more terrible than it ever has been so whatever. It's just a casino now is all.

I've also been working on improving my score in Rayman 3. Right now I'm ranked somewhere around 84th place globally and I'm only 5,000 points short of breaking 500,000, which is a significant number because it's what the developers thought the highest possible score was. The first place score is a little over 911,000 (which is especially impressive since there's a limit of 100,000 points per level, and there are 9 levels, and in the first level the absolute maximum obtainable score is 54,500). I think their estimate may have been a tiny bit off. Gotta say though, trying to find that extra 5k is pretty insanely difficult at my skill level. I've not been using any of the crazier exploits and I don't know how to do some of the biggest combos for the best points, so I've just about taken all the points I can out of every level. There are two spots I know for a fact I can get a lot of points, though - the one I'm trying for is definitely gonna give 5,000, but it's in the first section of one of the longest levels in the game and your score for a level isn't calculated until the end. The other is in isolation a guaranteed 3,500, probably as much as 6,000 or more if the entire combo is played well, but it's also the hardest single point drop to get in the entire game and you have to reload if you miss.

It's good stuff if you're into hard games with an emphasis on exploring, crafting, and replaying enemies and bosses for their materials. Way more fun if you have friends to play with, since it supports up to 3-player co-op. Be warned, it has a tendency to bug out on occasion, especially with enemy AI. I've had bosses kick my ass a few times, and then suddenly quit moving and let me kill them with minimal effort. Also, depending on the game world you load up, you may end up getting screwed over with material drops compared to your buddies, i.e. they'll get high-end stuff way earlier than you. The game lets you reset the world while keeping your character intact, but that also means you have to go through the story stuff all over again.

It's only $40, so it's a bit easier on the wallet than most 3D games. I'd say wait until Christmas gets close, as it may go on sale for twenty-something like it did over Thanksgiving.

I've been on a Fire Emblem: Three Houses kick lately.

Especially after Kingdom Hearts III started kicking my ass (went in blind on Critical Mode, overestimates my abilities, died like five times to Darkside)
